Truth-telling, listening to understand, healing

Noosa First Nations Allies is a voluntary not-for-profit community organisation working for social, economic, cultural and environmental justice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in the Noosa region, Queensland, and across Australia.

Launched in 2023 as Noosa for Yes, we have expanded on our original focus of achieving a Yes vote in the Voice referendum, to continue to advocate for First Nations peoples’ rights.

Our vision is to see social, economic, cultural and environmental justice and self-determination for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in the Noosa region, Queensland and across Australia, in a culture of truth-telling, listening to understand and healing.

We stand in solidarity with the Kabi Kabi and Gubbi Gubbi peoples, the traditional owners of the unceded land on which we operate.

We support First Nations communities to attain human rights and self-determination, to respect sovereignty and support healthy Country, communities and culture.

We are committed to truth-telling, treaty-making processes and anti-racism education, awareness and action to more effectively achieve respect, fairness, tolerance, community connection and equity of opportunity for all.

Acknowledgement of Country

Noosa First Nations Allies acknowledges the Kabi Kabi and Gubbi Gubbi peoples as the traditional owners of the land, sea and freshwater country across the Noosa region and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
We recognise First Nations peoples’ continuing connection to lands, waters and communities and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We extend this respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples throughout Australia.
